The General Directorate of Health (DGS) indicates that of the 62 deaths registered in the last 24 hours, 24 occurred in the North, 23 in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region, 9 in the Center region, five in Alentejo and one in the Algarve. There are no deaths to mourn in the autonomous communities.

In the Central region, 656 more cases were registered, with 24,376 infections and 487 deaths in this territory.

In Alentejo, 97 new cases of covid-19 were registered, totaling 5,057 and 94 deaths.

The Algarve region today reported 57 more cases of infection, totaling 4,606 cases and 42 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

In the Autonomous Region of the Azores, 48 ​​new cases were registered in the last 24 hours, totaling 761 infections and 15 deaths since the start of the pandemic (regional data indicates 16 deaths).

Madeira registered 10 more new cases between Friday and today, with a total of 759 infections and two deaths.

Confirmed cases are distributed in all age groups, with the highest number of infections between 20 and 59 years.

The new coronavirus has already infected at least 112,961 men and 138,276 women in Portugal, according to reported cases.

The bulletin indicates that there are 4,733 confirmed cases of unknown sex that are under investigation, as this data is not automatically released.

Of the total deaths, 1,967 were men and 1,857 women.

The highest number of deaths is still concentrated in people over 80 years of age.
