ORAn American policeman who worked in the state of Massachusetts paid, with his own money, for the Christmas purchases of a family who was caught stealing food out of necessity.

In accordance with CNNMatt Lima was called to a store on December, for theft.

Upon arriving at the scene, he found two women, with two small children, held by security guards for trying to steal various items from the store.

Shocked by the case, the agent called the women aside to explain the situation without the children listening.

Suspicions ended up telling Matt that they had no money for the children’s Christmas dinner. Checking what items they were carrying, he realized it was just food.

“Was obvious for me that family was in need. I have a small daughter, I cannot imagine what it is like not to have food to give her, “the policeman explained to the US publication.

After reprimanding them for not stealing again and asking for help, Matt bought a $ 250 gift card so the women could buy food at another store for Christmas dinner.
