Only 10 games are not.

Sony has finally put the PS5 backward compatibility issue on a clean slate. Although the console was already confirmed to be backward compatible, there were many questions about the game list.

The PlayStation support website confirms that “the vast majority of PS4 games” will work on PS5. The list consists of over 4000 games, with only 10 games not being backward compatible (see list below).

It also clarifies how to access the games. You can access backward compatible titles by inserting the PS4 disc into the console and accessing your digital game library. You can even transfer digital games from a PS4 to a PS5 over WiFi (which means you don’t need to download them).

For discs, you must keep the disc inside the player in order to play the backward compatible title. Sony also says that some games will benefit from an increase in performance and graphics, but in this case there is no final list.

Regarding PS4 accessories, Dualsense, Dualshock and officially licensed controllers will work on PS5 in compatible PS4 games. Special accessories, like steering wheels and arcade sticks, will work on PS4 and PS5 games.
