The mother of the two children was driving the car and is admitted to intensive care at the Hospital de Santarém.
One of the two children in the vehicle that was lost this Thursday in Arroquelas, in the municipality of Río Maior, died and the other is in a coma, said a source from the Santarém District Hospital, cited by the Lusa agency.
The 5-year-old boy will have arrived dead at the Santarém Hospital, where the mother, in her 30s, who was driving the vehicle, is admitted to intensive care, said the same source.
The other child, 3 years old, who was in the car was transferred to the Estefânia Hospital in Lisbon, and is currently in a coma.
The accident occurred around 9:50 am on Municipal Highway 510 in the Arroquelas area, Río Maior municipality.
