One dead and two seriously injured in a traffic accident in Arraiolos, Évora – Portugal

A man in his 40s died on Monday and two others suffered serious injuries after a car accident near Vimieiro, in the municipality of Arraiolos (Évora), sources from Civil Protection and GNR reported.

A source from the Évora District Relief Operations Command (CDOS) indicated to the Lusa agency that death was declared on the spot by the doctor of the Évora medical emergency and resuscitation vehicle (VMER), and the man’s body was sent to the emergency service. The two wounded, aged 38 and 40, were taken to Evora hospital, the GNR source said.

According to CDOS, the accident occurred on National Highway 251, between Vimieiro and Pavía.

Firefighters and vehicles from the Arraiolos corporation, VMER and an Immediate Life Support vehicle (SIV) from Estremoz, in addition to the GNR, were mobilized in a total of 26 elements, supported by 10 vehicles.
