Novo Banco: Resolution Fund refuses to pay 2 million bonuses to managers

[ad_1]

The Resolution Fund requested a loan of € 850 million to taxpayers with the aim of placing € 1037 million in Novo Banco, due to losses in 2019. However, the injection in the bank, carried out this week, was “only” of € 1035 million. The difference of € 2 million has a reason, according to the information obtained by Expresso and crossed with different sources: the refusal to maintain the position of paying bonuses to the executive board of directors led by António Ramalho with the public money received.

The team that manages Novo Banco cannot, due to the commitments made with Brussels, receive prizes and bonuses until 2021, but nothing prevents this remuneration to be awarded from 2022 onwards. And, in fact, this has already begun to take place in the bank that owns 75% of Lone Star and 25% of the Resolution Fund.
