The number of deaths in Portugal has been above the reference value for the last five years since March and in recent weeks it was higher in 209 of the 308 municipalities. There are 65 counties with a number of deaths 1.5 times higher than the reference value (the average of the last five years in the same four-week period) and of these, 16 counties in the Tâmega and Sousa, Ave and Metropolitan Area subregions from Porto.
