Non-NHS exams exempt from user fees as of January 1

Therefore, the Government “continues the process of exemption from moderation rates in the SNS, after having completed, during this year, the dispensing in the Primary Care consultations and also in the complementary diagnostic and therapeutic tests prescribed in âscope of the primary health care network and carried out in the samescope“.

The Executive considers that this is an “important step to achieve a SNS increasingly just and inclusive, which better responds to the needs of the population and guarantees universal health coverage, ”the statement from the Council of Ministers reads.

1 of janeiro this year, the moderation fee waiver for primary health care visits came into effect. Complementary means carried out in primary health care are also exempt from collection from September 2020, recalled the Minister of Health.

Now all the tests prescribed in primary health care are added, “regardless of whether they are carried out in a public, private or social environment,” explained Marta Temido, recalling that these exemptions were included in the 2020 State Budgets.

According to the State Budget proposal for 2021 (OE2021), the exemption from paying user fees in Primary Care will have an economic impact of 47.3 million euros.

Proposal OE2021, delivered on 12 October in Parliament, it foresees an increase of 90 million euros for primary health care.
