An American woman has been arrested and is charged with the murder of her daughter, a newborn girl just one month old, after leaving the girl in the car in the sun to go off to masturbate and use drugs.
Megan Dauphin, 30, a native of Panama City, Florida, was surprised by a witness in her bedroom, after using methamphetamine, masturbating. The witness reportedly asked the woman where the daughter, little McKinley Garner, was and Megan said “OMG! I forgot” before running out of the house. The baby was found dead in the car after being locked in the vehicle in scorching heat for several hours.
Authorities were called to the scene and found evidence of drug use inside the family’s home. After testing, Megan tested positive for methamphetamine use.
“The Megan that I know would never do such a thing. I imagine that that girl, so tiny, wrapped in a blanket, being robbed of her life because of her mother, is disturbing,” a friend of the American told the Metro newspaper. Megan is charged with child neglect and homicide.
