Portugal has a total of 128,392 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 3,960 more than the previous day, reveals the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) published this Wednesday, October 28. The number of deaths from the new coronavirus in the country rose to 2,395, with an additional 24 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The DGS reveals that there are currently 56,122 cases registered in the North (more 2,114), 10,877 in the Center (more 558), 55,478 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (more 1,105), 2,579 in the Algarve (more 53), 353 cases in the Autonomous Region of Azores (plus five), 425 in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (plus 15) and 2,558 cases in Alentejo (plus 110).

Currently, there are 1,794 hospitalized patients (47 more than yesterday), of which 262 are in Intensive Care Units (ICU) and 74,001 cases recovered in Portugal, 1,657 more than those registered yesterday.

Regarding deaths, of the total of 2,395 deaths, 1,053 are registered in the North (plus 11), 304 in the Center (plus four), 955 in Lisbon and the Tagus Valley (plus eight), 25 in the Algarve, 15 in the Azores, 43 in the Alentejo (one more). There is no death from Covid-19 in Madeira.

There are currently 58,374 men and 70,018 women infected with the new coronavirus. As for deaths, there are 1,224 men and 1,171 women. 62,457 people are under surveillance, 2,394 more than yesterday. There are still 51,996 active cases, 2,279 more than yesterday.

The age group with the highest number of cases is between 20 and 29 years old, with 10,351 men and 11,373 women, in a total of 21,724 cases. The highest number of deaths is recorded in 80 years, with 717 men and 888 women, in a total of 1,605 deaths.
