New deconflation rules announced on April 1

The Government announced today the expansion of the regulations in force in the deconfiguration plan and that it will only define the regulations after Easter next week, on April 1.

“The Government decided today electronically to extend the current decree until April 5 and decide only what the rules are from April 5 to April 1, next Thursday. It means that we will decide based on more current data and closer to the reality of that day. It is a decision of caution and warning about the conditions that we have to guarantee in order to continue with the plan of misconception, ”said the Minister of the Presidency.

In a press conference after the Council of Ministers, Mariana Vieira da Silva also said that Portugal is currently having a 14-day cumulative incidence of 67.7 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and a transmission rate (Rt) of 0.81.

“The route shows that we are in a position to continue with the deconflation plan, but it also shows that we have significantly approached the Rt equal to 1 and that, therefore, we must be cautious in continuing the de-confinement plan,” he stressed. .

He highlighted the continuity of the prohibition of circulation between municipalities already in force and until April 5, recalling that the fact that the country is in the ‘green zone’ of the matrix presented by the Prime Minister, António Costa, on April 11 March, in the uncertainty, “does not mean that we are free and that all activities are open.”

“The regulations are exactly the same with which we live today, including the extension of the ban on driving outside the municipality, which runs from 00:00 today until 23:59 on April 5. The decree is the same in everything else, ”he said.

In Portugal, 16,814 people died from 819,210 confirmed cases of infection, according to the most recent bulletin from the Directorate General of Health.
