The former private shareholder of reference denies that he is going to take a civil action against the Portuguese State to request compensation.

I, David Neeleman, upon hearing the article entitled “Neeleman demands billions from the State”, published, with a cover story, in the 12/12/2020 edition of the Jornal SOL, I come to exercise the right of reply and rectification in the terms and for the effects of the provisions of articles 24 to 26 of the Press Law.

To this end, I declare that the aforementioned article does not have the minimum attachment to reality. I expressly declare that no legal or other action has been brought or will be initiated against the Portuguese State, that the preparation of such action is not ongoing and that I have not instructed my lawyers to study this possibility.

I acknowledge that the journalist who signs the article has not contacted me to confirm the veracity of the alleged news.

The publication of a supposed news of this relevance, but without any truth or confirmation, is illegal and incomprehensible, and has an underlying foundation that can only have malicious intentions.

Because it is not true, this supposed news affects my reputation and good name, causing damages of various kinds and of great gravity.

I request that the article in question be immediately denied on the Jornal SOL website and that they also do so in the next printed edition of the SOL newspaper, by publishing this communication, which will be done under the terms of the law, with the same emphasis given to your article today and with the cover call.

With best regards,
David neeleman
