HE city center britasingle Birmingham is under a security perimeter after authorities confirmed that, during the early hours of Sunday, “several stabbings” were reported at the scene.
According to Sky News, West Midlands police have already said there are injuries, but said they are not yet “in a position” where they can reveal the number of victims or their health. “In any case, all means of assistance are working together on the scene, ensuring that all the injured are assisted,” police said in a statement.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Hurst Street and Bromsgrove Street: an area of the city known for life night – and the authorities were alerted about the incident around 12:30 am.
The police force said that an investigation is already underway to determine what happened, although it is still premature to make any speculation or draw conclusions about the case.
The local police also called on the population to remain calm and not go to that area.
