Moura: controversy on social networks over marriage in the gypsy community

[ad_1]

According to the news reported by Rádio Planície, the Facebook page of the “CHEGA – Moura” Party revealed a wedding in the gypsy community of Moura, in the parish of Póvoa de São Miguel, where some 300 were supposedly present according to the information.

In this same revelation, and according to the news advanced by Rádio Planície, the “CHEGA” party accuses the Moura City Council and the Póvoa de São Miguel Parish Council of consenting to the fact by stating that “As long as the Moura City Council continues to govern GNR, to pay the amounts owed by the gypsy community, yesterday started a wedding in Póvoa de São Miguel, with more than 300 people. In a parish that was badly affected by Covid 19, where many people are still afraid to leave their homes and where the Roma community mixes with the neighbors, it seems that it is not normal … ”The CHEGA publication on Facebook adds that“ More grave, the land belongs to the parish council and also authorized the ceremony … ”.

The mayor of Moura, Álvaro Azedo, on his personal Facebook page, has already reacted saying “The Chamber will not respond to the faceless parties in the municipality, which only carry half truths, and which fuel hatred through the networks social. No local or regional leader is known to challenge the mayor. They are signs of the times … ”, says Álvaro Azedo.

The mayor of Moura, on his personal facebook page, also presents some facts about this matter:

“1. Regarding the support for the purchase of food and pharmacy to confined families, the municipality of Moura supported 21 Roma families. Of these, only 5 have yet to pay their expenses, and they certainly will. Has GNR supported the Chamber to notify families who have not yet regularized their situation? Certainly, and that shows our level of demand in this matter. Approximately 15 non-Roma families received support and there are also small situations to resolve. Regarding this matter, we are speaking, all people have been regularizing situations and it does not seem decent to me that such a fact deserves hate;

2. With regard to the wedding of Póvoa de São Miguel, those responsible for the Moura Detachment by GNR; PSP; and other members of the Coordinating Center for Civil Protection (which meets every day in the morning) know perfectly well that the Municipal Civil Protection Service of Moura ruled against the holding of such a party. And, in the file carried out by the GNR and passed to the Public Ministry, there is even an opinion requested by the SMPC from the Public Health Authority ”.

In the publication published on his personal Facebook account, the mayor of Moura also states that “although yesterday afternoon I was on duty at Herdade da Contenda, I spoke several times with the GNR officer in charge of the Detachment, requesting intervention so that the meeting will be completed as soon as possible. I made the same request to the president of the Freguesia Board ”.
