There are at least 20 people infected, 18 foreign fishermen and two employees of the naval facilities.

In the Naval Shipyards of Peniche, an outbreak of covid-19 was identified, which originated in fishing boats, which caused the isolation of at least a hundred people.

At least twenty people tested positive for the new coronavirus and another 100, among the shipyard workers and their families, are in quarantine, according to TVI, which cites the source from the municipality.

The isolation was applied after two shipyard employees tested positive.

The 18 infected fishermen, all foreigners, are asymptomatic and have been isolated in hotels in the city.

The boats followed by the infected men, four long-haul fishing boats, and which were anchored in the shipyards for maintenance work, have already been disinfected.

Detection of coronavirus continues at the shipyards and further screening tests are underway.
