The 12 finalists of the Mais Ajuda program have already been chosen, having selected projects from six IPSS and six startups, from a total of more than 700 applications. They compete for a global prize of 150 thousand euros.

Created by Lidl, in association with Beta-i and the Renascença group, the Mais Ajuda program aims to promote and drive innovative intervention and social impact projects in the third sector.

“Among the finalists are social solidarity institutions and Startups throughout the country, with projects to support the community in areas as diverse as the environment, education, technology and social integration, which were selected according to criteria rigorous evaluation programs related to the social impact of the community. project, its growth potential, the maturity and complementarity of the team, the degree of innovation of the project and its viability and sustainability over time, “says the chain in a press release.

Each of the six winners (3 IPPSS and 3 startups) receives 22,500 euros for the implementation of their proposal. The amount was financed by purchases of Lidl’s own brand products (Deluxe brand).

Lidl will also contribute 15,000 euros, for a Business Hackathon, directed at IPSS or similar, in which “members of the talent community, the entrepreneurship, among other external partners, will participate to identify and develop solutions to some of the challenges specific to these institutions. “

Given the current context of the Covid-19 pandemic, the candidates’ releases, which “would take place in person at a final event for the announcement of the winners, are assumed on video and the event is replaced by a radio program on Renascença, in late May. “
