Monkey that was in an unoccupied house in Penafiel rescued by GNR

This Tuesday, GNR captured a capuchin monkey, Cebus apella, in the municipality of Penafiel.

In a statement issued this Wednesday, the security force explains that, after a complaint that indicated that a monkey was in an unoccupied house, the military “went to the place where, after the location of the animal, they communicated with the municipal veterinarian to be able to capture the mammal safely ”, as it moved away with each attempt to approach the guards, thus hindering the rescue operation.
