The 38-year-old woman from Funchal and a resident of Santo Amaro who was reported missing last Monday called a co-worker yesterday to tell her that she was outside the Region, but the Public Security Police already investigated this clue, and Luísa Ferreira Barreto will not have left Madeira. According to her husband, before disappearing she wrote a farewell note, apologizing, asking her to take good care of her three children and saying that she loved everyone.

The warning came after Luísa asked her mother to pick up her daughter from school, a routine that was hers since she was unemployed. On Monday she still met her son at home, it was the last time they saw her. She was wearing black pants, a flowered blouse, and a black suitcase. Despite not having been diagnosed with depression, the woman was medicated for anxiety and the family fears for her safety.

The situation has been difficult for family and friends, who are committed, together with the PSP, in finding the woman. The children, the husband continues, are “emotionally well”, they are accompanied by the family and other close people.

“It’s one day at a time,” said the partner. “Nobody expected,” he confessed to DIÁRIO.

The family and authorities continue the search for Luísa Ferreira Barreto. They appreciate that any useful information about the woman’s whereabouts is transmitted to the PSP or through cell phones 963195099 or 963678066.
