This all happened after the PlayStation 5 Showcase, where Sony finally revealed the price and release date of the PS5. Despite featuring games like Final Fantasy XVI, a sequel to God of War, and Hogwarts Legacy, the presentation made no mention of previous reservations.

Interestingly, the first time we found out about pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 was through Geoff keighley, which read “According to Sony, pre-orders for # PlayStation5 start TOMORROW at select retailers.”

A few minutes later, the PlayStation confirmed Keighley’s tweetbut did not give further information on when the pre-orders would begin.

After that, many expected nothing to happen until the next day, but to everyone’s surprise, Walmart began pre-ordering the PS5 within hours of Sony’s unveiling, and apparently it was on purpose. HE Walmart tweeted: “Makes you wait to get the new PlayStation5? No, it’s not ours. Go ahead and order NOW!”

This caused quite a stir on the internet, with many trying to secure a PlayStation 5 on launch day. In Portuguese lands it was not so problematic, but there is already a stock problem, especially with the PS5 Digital Edition.
