Martínez trained only in Gaia, sees a knot almost untied and should be made official today

Famalicenses received the guarantee regarding the payment terms and the operation should be announced later this Saturday. The Spanish see, in this way, a wish that was accepted about a month ago fulfilled

The knot that FC Porto and Famalicão had to untie to end the transfer process of Toni Martínez to Dragão was practically surpassed, yesterday Friday, at the end of the night, so this Saturday they must sign a contract that will be valid for the next five seasons.

The Minho club received from the Blue and Whites all the guarantees it wanted in relation to the forward’s payment terms, which will cost the Porto coffers a sum of between three and four million euros (value of the termination clause), and gave authorization to unblock an operation that was beginning to lengthen in time.

The delay, in fact, ended up causing a somewhat unusual situation, since the Spaniard, who on Thursday finished his medical examinations, found himself training on Friday to stay in shape. He did it in Candal (Vila Nova de Gaia), where James Rodríguez also passed a few days ago, waiting for the negotiations between Real Madrid and Everton to conclude.

After making a verbal commitment to FC Porto about a month ago, Toni Martínez hoped that the negotiations between the clubs would take place with another speed, so that he could quickly start working with Sérgio Conceição.

The delay, however, makes it arrive in Dragão a week before the dragons’ debut in the championship, against Braga, and without any particular effect. The last, remember, is scheduled for this Saturday, with Nacional. For this reason, the Spaniard who scored 14 goals in Famalicão is at a disadvantage compared to his competitors, especially the other reinforcements of the most offensive sector, such as Taremi or Evanilson.
