Paul Blackwell, 62, and Rose Mary Blackwell, 65, had been married for 30 years. The two died a week ago, after one last hug, holding hands and holding hands with their children. That’s right, said his son Shawn Blackwell, speaking to CNN.

After two weeks of hospitalization, the children made the difficult decision to have the machines that kept them alive, after doctors assured them that, in both cases, there was nothing to do.
“The doctors said they had seen no progression and that their overall vital functions were slowly declining. It got to the point where there was nothing else they could do.”

The couple leaves behind four children and 20 grandchildren. Without the means to pay for their funerals, the family launched an appeal on the Go Fund Me page and in four days they raised around 60,000 euros.
