Marega reacted on social networks after what happened during PSG-Basaksehir, on the sixth day of the Champions League group stage
Marega used social networks, using an emoji -in six tones- to express his support for Pierre Webo, Basaksehir’s assistant coach, who this Tuesday, at 14 minutes of PSG-Basaksehir, complained that the fourth official of the game of the Champions League used the expression “black”. Webo refused to leave the field, after receiving an expulsion order, questioning: “Where is the ‘black’? (Where is the ‘black’)”.
The match, on matchday six of the Champions League, will resume on Wednesday after being interrupted today by an alleged racist insult, the Turkish club said.
After about two hours of interruption, in which the teams were still trying to get back onto the pitch, it was decided that the match would be played on Wednesday, a Turkish club official told AFP.
“The match will resume on Wednesday, at the time it was interrupted,” the official said, adding that “conditions were not met” for it to end today.
The incident occurred in the 14th minute of the match, when the fourth official, Romanian Sebastian Costantin Coltescu, instructed the referee, his compatriot Ovidiu Hategan, to expel Basaksehir’s assistant coach, Pierre Webo, who complained that the referee team he used the expression ‘black’, refusing to leave the field and asking: “Where is the ‘black’? (Where is the ‘black’)”.
After several minutes, the squad of the Turkish team and the players, followed by those of PSG, decided to leave the pitch at a time when the match was tied 0-0.
The Turkish club president himself, Göksel Gümüsdag, revealed that the players would only return to the pitch today if Coltescu does not return.
“The fourth official said ‘black’ to everyone. If the fourth official leaves, then we will come back. If the fourth official remains on the ground, then Basaksehir will not return,” said Göksel Gümüsdag.
It is recalled that on February 16 Marega left Vitória de Guimarães-FC Porto in the 71st minute after having shown discontent over the racist insults he heard from the Estádio D. Afonso Henriques stands.
