A man would be doing recreational fishing off a cliff by the beach.
The body of a man, between 60 and 70 years old, was found this Wednesday afternoon floating in the sea next to the beach of Estaquinha, in the municipality of Lagoa in the Algarve, revealed the Maritime Authority.
The man would be a fisherman who would have fallen into the sea when he was practicing recreational fishing on a cliff, next to the beach.
The Ferragudo lifeguard station was activated after an alert was given about the sighting of a body floating on the beach. The body was later collected and transported to the Portimão marina.
“The death was declared on the spot by the Lagoa health delegate,” the Maritime Authority also revealed.
The Portimão Maritime Police took charge of the incident.
