The executive note explains that, in these cases, the absences of the students “are considered justified”, a decision that “will be the subject of a circular issued by the Regional Directorate of Education.”

Regarding the mandatory use of masks, the Regional Government explains that it applies “to persons aged 10 years and over for access, circulation or permanence in public spaces and roads of the Autonomous Community of the Azores, provided that the physical distance recommended by regional health authorities are impractical. “

However, this obligation is waived by “presenting a medical certificate for multi-purpose disability or a medical statement, in the case of people with cognitive impairment, development and psychological disorders, a medical statement that accredits the clinical status of the person is not compatible with the use of masks, or when the use of masks is incompatible with the nature of the activities that people are carrying out and in relation to people who are part of the same household, when they are not in the proximity of third parties ” .
