A man was injured late Sunday afternoon when he slipped and fell at the Tahiti Falls, in the town of Ermida, in Vilar da Veiga, in the municipality of Terras de Bouro, having been helped by the Red Cross already in hypothermia .

The victim, about 45 years old, resident of Vila Verde, slipped and fell from a height of about five meters, fracturing his left leg.

Two teams from the Río Caldo da Cruz Vermelha Delegation took the victim out of the second designated well or “sink” of the Tahiti Falls, since the woman, daughter and son-in-law were unable to get him out of the Arado river. When he was rescued, the man was already hypothermic.

The wounded man was stabilized in situ and transferred to the Emergency Service of the Central Hospital of Braga. GNR, also unleashed, is investigating whether the victim and his relatives disobeyed the curfew – imposed from 1 pm – or if they were taking a “hygienic walk”, as they said.
