Ana Vieira Leite, soprano from Braga, won the International Baroque Singing Competition in Froville, France.

The 25-year-old panty took the best, in the final that took place on Saturday, at the Château de Lunéville, against the French Brenda Poupard and Léo Vermont Desroches.

“It was an incredible experience and I couldn’t be happier,” the singer shared on her Facebook page.

Born in Braga, Ana Vieira Leite, soprano, began her musical studies at the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatory of Music in Braga at the age of 5 and discovered singing at 15 with Liliana Coelho.

His tour goes through concerts in Portugal, Spain, France, Switzerland and Brazil in solo recitals, in opera and in Ensemble.

Ana Vieira Leite performs regularly in opera, oratory, lied, contemporary music, and in Renaissance and Baroque music ensembles.

He is a basic member of the “Bando de Surunyo”, with the musical direction of Hugo Sanches, a group specialized in the interpretation of music from the 16th and 17th centuries.

In September 2019 he made his debut as a solo soprano at the Gran Teatro de Genève in the production of “Eiinstein on the Beach” by Philip Glass and as Clorinda in “Cenerentolina”, an adaptation for children of the opera “Cenerentola” by Rossini. In opera she played Fiordiligi and Despina (Coslices Fan Tutte) by WA Mozart, Polly (The Threepenny Opera) – Kurt Weill, Cupidon (Orfée aux Enfers) – Offenbach, Spes (Ordo Virtutum) – Hildegard von Bingen, La Bohemienne (Les Fetes. Venitiennes)) – A. Campra and Clarina (La Cambiale di Matrimonio) – Rossini.

In his soloist repertoire with orchestra, the “IV Symphony” by Gustav Mahler under the direction of Joana Carneiro and “Ruckert Lieder” by Gustav Mahler under the direction of Thomas Hauschild stand out.

She has a bachelor’s degree in singing, a postgraduate degree in opera and music-theater studies, and a master’s degree in artistic performance from the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetntación, both of which have been awarded the highest marks and under the supervision of António Salgado.

In 2018 he obtained the 1st Prize of the “Cidade de Almada International Competition”, in 2017 the Helena Sá e Costa Prize and in 2011, 2012 and 2013, the 2nd Prize in the National Singing Competition of the Conservatories of Music.

He received a scholarship from the Gulbenkian Foundation (Portugal), the Mosetti Foundation (Switzerland), and the GDA Foundation (Portugal). She recently completed her Master in Concert at the Haute École de Musique de Genève.
