Man arrested in Oliveira de Azeméis for violation of mandatory imprisonment

This Thursday, the GNR detained a 48-year-old man for violating the mandatory confinement to which he was subjected in the context of the covid-19 pandemic in the municipality of Oliveira de Azeméis, Aveiro district, said that military force.

In a statement, the GNR clarifies that, in the course of a police action to verify the duty of mandatory internment, the soldiers of the Guard went to the residence of the suspect, verifying that he had been absent.

“Once the offender was located, it was realized that he had been absent on his own initiative, having decided to return home and, consequently, detained,” says the same note.

Also according to GNR, the detainee was established as a defendant and the facts were referred to the Oliveira de Azeméis Judicial Court.

The violation of compulsory confinement constitutes a crime of disobedience.

GNR recalls that all patients with covid-19, those infected with SARS-CoV-2 and citizens for whom the authority is in mandatory confinement, in a health center, at home or in another place defined by the health authorities . Health professionals or other health professionals have determined active surveillance.
