The Aveiro GNR arrested, on Saturday, September 26, a 62-year-old man for violation of compulsory detention. The arrest took place in São Pedro de Castelões, in the Vale de Cambra municipality, where the military received him inside a restaurant. The GNR had gone to the man’s residence to confirm that he was in quarantine.

Two days later, soldiers from the same Territorial Post in Vale de Cambra arrested a 61-year-old woman for the same crime. It was also during the same type of surveillance that the military verified that the woman was not at home, later locating her in the town of Ossela, in Oliveira de Azeméis, about six kilometers from her place of residence.

Both the man and the woman were processed and the facts were sent to the Vale de Cambra Court of Justice, which will now be in charge of trying them. Violation of mandatory confinement is a crime of disobedience.

“GNR recalls that all patients with Covid-19, those infected with SARS-CoV-2 and citizens with whom the authority remains in mandatory confinement in a health facility, at home or elsewhere. Health workers or other health professionals have determined active surveillance ”, recalled the military force in a statement.
