This Thursday, December 31, there are 73 new positive cases of covid-19 to be notified, with the result that the Autonomous Region of Madeira already has 1,760 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the regional territory.
This number is the new daily maximum of infections in Madeira.
These are 24 imported cases (6 from the United Kingdom, 3 from Venezuela, 1 from Brazil, 3 from France, 1 from Germany, 1 from Spain, 1 from the Azores, 4 from the North of Portugal and 4 from the Lisbon Region) and Vale do Tejo) and 49 cases of local transmission, most of them already associated with contacts or contexts of positive cases.
Recovered cases
Today there are also 30 more recovered cases to report. The Region now has 1,094 recovered cases of covid-19.
One more death and 652 active cases
Deaths go through Covid-19 in Madeira
As reported by DIÁRIO this Friday there is unfortunately one more death to report, so RAM counts, to date, a total of 14 deaths associated with covid-19.
In total there are 652 active cases, of which 165 are imported cases and 487 are local transmission cases.

Regarding the isolation of active cases, 30 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 578 in their own accommodation and 44 people are currently hospitalized (41 in the Polyvalent Unit and 3 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to covid-19) .
In total, there are 151 new situations that are being studied this Thursday by the health authorities, all related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or by SESARAM, EPERAM.
Contacts for the SRS24 line (800 24 24 20) now total 25,230 calls, plus 192 calls in the last 24 hours.
As for the active surveillance of cases of positive contacts, 2,234 people are being accompanied by the health authorities of the different municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo.
As for the surveillance of travelers, 24,907 people are also being accompanied by the authorities, using the MadeiraSafe application.
Number of COVID-19 Confusion PCR Tests Performed in RAM
In the context of the passenger control operation in the ports and airports of Madeira and Porto Santo, there is a cumulative total of 141,795 harvests to test for covid-19 carried out until 8:00 p.m. this Thursday.
