Today, November 2, the Autonomous Region of Madeira registers 16 new positive cases of covid-19, according to information on the epidemiological situation released by the Institute of Health Administration, IP-RAM (IASAÚDE)
These are 12 imported cases (6 from Poland, 3 from the United Kingdom, 2 from France and 1 from Belgium) and 4 cases of local transmission.
Regarding the cases of local transmission identified today, IASAÚDE reveals that “three of the confirmed cases are health professionals from SESARAM, EPERAM, assigned to response activities to covid-19, which were identified in the context of the screening of professionals implemented in this institution “. .
The same report says that “the epidemiological investigation of each case is ongoing”, having already been “identified 10 contacts in the context of the health service, who remain in prophylactic isolation and will be subjected to PCR tests for covid-19 after the period indicated by the health authorities “.
Regarding the other case, it refers to a teacher from the municipality of Câmara de Lobos, as DIÁRIO had already advanced.
The teacher was “close contact, in the family context, of a case diagnosed today.”
The health authorities confirm that “having a professional activity in a school in the municipality of Câmara de Lobos, she was informed and her contingency plan was activated.”
Others “have already identified six close contacts in this context and remain in prophylactic isolation,” adds IASAÚDE, following what has already been reported.

Today there are also 4 more recovered cases to report, so the region now has 184 active cases (155 imported and 29 for local transmission); 286 recovered cases and 1 death associated with covid-19 in RAM.
Regarding the residence of active cases, 137 are non-residents and 47 are RAM residents.
Regarding isolation, 81 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 102 in their own accommodation and 1 person is hospitalized in the Multipurpose Unit dedicated to covid-19.
It should be noted that there are still 76 new situations that are currently being studied by the health authorities, 19 from the airport control operation and 57 related to contacts with positive cases or situations reported to the SRS24 line.
