Madeira with 12 new cases of coronavirus infection this Sunday – DNOTICIAS.PT

This Sunday, the Autonomous Region of Madeira has 12 new cases of Covid-19 infection, all of them of local transmission and associated with contexts and contacts of previously identified positive cases.

Of the cases detected today, three refer to children between the ages of 3 and 12 who attend educational establishments in the municipalities of Santa Cruz and Funchal. There is also a SESARAM health professional with professional activity also in an institution in the social area and an employee of a school with Covid-19, both working in Machico.

The daily bulletin of the Regional Health Directorate also indicates the recovery of a patient, so the number of people with active infection is 207. Of these, 47 are imported cases identified in the context of surveillance activities implemented at the airport Madeira and 160 are cases of local transmission. Regarding the residence of active cases, 30 are non-residents and 177 are RAM residents.

Regarding the isolation of active cases, 33 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 172 in their own accommodation and 2 people remain hospitalized in the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital (one in the Polyvalent Unit dedicated to Covid-19 and another in the Intensive Care Unit).

In total, there are 80 new situations that are currently being studied by the health authorities, 10 from the Madeira airport control operation and 70 related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or by SESARAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
