Today there are 15 new positive cases of COVID-19 to be reported, so the Region now has 978 confirmed cases in the regional territory. According to the epidemiological bulletin of the Regional Health Directorate (DRS), there are 7 cases imported from the United Kingdom and 8 cases of local transmission, most of them already associated with contacts or contexts of previously identified positive cases.

Regarding the cases confirmed today, DRS reports a case in the area of ​​education, which involves 1 adult with a professional activity in an educational establishment, in the municipality of Funchal. It also indicates a case in the social sphere, the professional related to the ISSM, IP-RAM, with activity in the municipality of Funchal. The contingency plan of the respective institution is active and the epidemiological investigation is ongoing.

The DRS emphasizes that today there are 22 more recovered cases to report, that is, the Region now counts 715 recovered cases of COVID-19, and the bulletin also mentions confirmed death this afternoon, “with RAM now counting a total of 3 deaths associated with COVID-19 “.

There are currently 260 active cases, of which 53 are imported cases and 207 are locally transmitted cases. Regarding the residence of active cases, 27 are non-residents and 233 are residents of the RAM.

Regarding the isolation of active cases, the DRS bulletin indicates that 14 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 233 in their own accommodation and 13 people are currently hospitalized, 9 in the Multipurpose Unit and 4 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID-19.

In total, there are 143 new situations that are currently being studied by health authorities, all related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or by SESARAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.

Contacts for the SRS24 line (800 24 24 20) now total 20099 calls, plus 237 calls in the last 24 hours. Regarding the active surveillance of the contacts of positive cases, 1,843 people are being accompanied by the health authorities of the different municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo. Regarding the surveillance of travelers, 7,893 people are also being accompanied by the authorities, using the MadeiraSafe application.

Regarding the COVID-19 detection tests carried out in RAM, it should be noted that in the context of the traveler screening operation in the ports and airports of Madeira and Porto Santo, there is a cumulative total of 115,546 test harvests to report to COVID-19 held until 6:30 pm today. In total, the samples processed in the SESARAM, EPERAM Clinical Pathology laboratory for PCR tests amount to 189,183.
