This Tuesday another 13 new cases of contagion by the new coronavirus are reported, identified in Madeira.
According to the epidemiological bulletin of the Regional Health Directorate (DRS), there are nine cases of local transmission and four imported, one from the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region, one from Poland, one from Germany and one from Venezuela.
As for the nine cases of local transmission, they are associated with contacts or contexts of previously identified positive cases.
As for the cases confirmed today, there are:
Three cases in the area of education: 1 child attending an educational establishment in the municipality of Funchal educational establishments in the municipality of Funchal and 2 adults, with professional activity in an educational establishment in the municipality of Machico. The contingency plan for these establishments is already active.
A case in the Health / Social area: 1 health professional, working in the public and private sectors, in health and social institutions. Contingency plans for these services are active and epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
A case of 1 adult with professional activity in a municipal service of the municipality of Funchal. The epidemiological investigation is ongoing.
It should also be noted that in the last 24 hours 11 people were recovered in the Region.
According to the bulletin, the Region has 259 active cases, of which 50 are imported cases identified in the context of surveillance activities implemented at the Madeira airport and 209 are cases of local transmission. Regarding the residence of active cases, 29 are non-residents and 230 are RAM residents.
Regarding the isolation of active cases, 23 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 222 in their own accommodation and currently 14 people are hospitalized, 11 in the Multipurpose Unit and 3 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID-19.
Also according to the statement sent by DRS, it should be noted that in total, there are 203 new situations that are currently being studied by the health authorities, 10 from the Madeira airport control operation and 193 related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported. to the SRS24 line or by SESARAM, EPERAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
• Contacts on the SRS24 line (800 24 24 20) now total 19,679 calls, plus 193 calls in the last 24 hours.
• Regarding the active surveillance of contacts of positive cases, 1,503 people are being monitored by the health authorities of the different municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo. Regarding the surveillance of travelers, 8,087 people are also being accompanied by the authorities, using the MadeiraSafe application.
Regarding the COVID-19 detection tests carried out in RAM, it is observed that in the context of the traveler review operation in the ports and airports of Madeira and Porto Santo, a total of 114,979 harvests for COVID tests are accumulated – 19 held until 6:30 pm today;
In total, the samples processed in the SESARAM, EPERAM Clinical Pathology laboratory for PCR tests amount to 187,197.
