Madeira registers five new cases of Covid-19 – DNOTICIAS.PT

Madeira today registered five new positive cases of Covid-19. This is 1 case imported from Spain and 4 cases of local transmission, mostly associated with contexts and contacts of previously identified positive cases. Thus we count, in total, 798 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the regional territory.

There are 119 new situations under study by the health authorities, 1 from the Madeira airport control operation and 118 related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or by SESARAM.

Today there are 10 more recovered cases to report, so the region now has 592 recovered cases of Covid-19. To date, there have been 2 deaths associated with the virus.

There are now 204 active cases, of which 42 are imported cases identified in the context of surveillance activities implemented at the Madeira airport and 162 are cases of local transmission. Regarding the residence of active cases, 27 are non-residents and 177 are RAM residents.

The Regional Health Directorate says that 28 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 173 in their own accommodation and 3 people are hospitalized: 2 in the Polyvalent Unit dedicated to COVID-19 and 1 patient in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID -19. .

Regarding the active surveillance of the contacts of positive cases, 1,392 people are being monitored by the health authorities of the different municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo. Regarding the surveillance of travelers, 5,941 people are also being accompanied by the authorities, using the MadeiraSafe application.
