This Thursday, Madeira registers nine more cases of covid-19, one of which is locally transmitted, associated with a recently diagnosed case. The rest are 2 from the United Kingdom, 2 from Poland, 2 from Brazil, 1 from Switzerland and 1 from the Lisbon Region and the Tagus Valley. Thus, Madeira currently registers 108 active cases.
It should be noted that there are 5 new recovered, so the total is encrypted in 101 imported cases identified in the context of surveillance activities implemented at the Madeira airport and 7 are cases of local transmission.
There are also 21 situations that are currently being studied by the health authorities, whose epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
Regarding the accommodation of these patients, 62 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 45 in their own accommodation and 1 patient is hospitalized in the Polyvalent Unit dedicated to covid-19 of the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
To date, 18,917 people are being monitored by the health authorities of the different municipalities in the region, using the MadeiraSafe application, of these 8,771 people are under active surveillance.
