Madeira registers 6 more positive cases of Covid-19 – dnoticias.pt

The Region today registered 6 more positive cases of Covid-19. These are 6 imported cases, 2 from Venezuela, 2 from Poland, 1 from France and 1 from Lisbon and the Tagus Valley.

Thus, we have, to date, 87 active cases, of which 78 are imported cases identified in the context of surveillance activities implemented at the Madeira airport and 9 are cases of local transmission.

Regarding the isolation of positive cases, 51 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 35 in their own accommodation and 1 patient is hospitalized in the Polyvalent Unit dedicated to COVID-19 at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.

According to the daily balance, there are also 2 new recovered cases to report, and the region now represents 176 recovered cases of Covid-19.

To date, 18,423 people are being monitored by the health authorities of the different counties in the region, using the MadeiraSafe application, of these 8,388 people are under active surveillance.

There are also 16 new situations to be reported that are currently being studied by the health authorities, all identified in the control operation implemented at the Madeira airport. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
