Madeira registers 47 new cases of covid-19 today – DNOTICIAS.PT

Today there are 47 new positive cases of covid-19 that will be reported in the Region.
These are 12 imported cases (6 from the United Kingdom, 2 from Luxembourg, 1 from Poland, 1 from the Czech Republic, 1 from France and 1 from the Lisbon Region and the Tagus Valley) and 35 cases of local transmission, in their most are already associated with previously identified positive case contexts or contacts. Epidemiological investigations are still ongoing.

This Monday’s data from the Regional Health Directorate also reports 23 more recovered cases to report. The region now has a total of 1,031 recovered patients.

Thus, there are now 517 active cases, of which 156 are imported cases and 361 are local cases.

There are 116 new situations that are currently being studied by the health authorities, all related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or by SESARAM, continuing the corresponding epidemiological investigations.

RAM counts, to date, a total of 12 deaths associated with covid-19.

Of the 27 people hospitalized, four are in intensive care

Regarding the isolation of active cases, DRS reports that 54 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 4 are in their own accommodation and 27 people are currently hospitalized, 23 in the Multipurpose Unit and 4 in the dedicated Intensive Care Unit to covid-19.

As for the active surveillance of the contacts of positive cases, 2,221 people are being monitored by the health authorities of the different municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo.

Regarding the surveillance of travelers, 25 951 people are also being accompanied by the authorities, using the MadeiraSafe application.
