Madeira registers 3 imported cases and 9 of local transmission – DNOTICIAS.PT

This Thursday, Madeira registers 12 more new cases of covid-19. It should be noted that there are 9 cases of local transmission and another 3 cases from the north of Portugal and Germany.

As for the cases of local transmission, most of them are associated with contacts of previously identified positive cases. The contacts of 3 of these cases are still under investigation.

Among the cases identified today, one of the imported cases refers to a health professional, who did not come to the service until the result of this test.

One of the cases of local transmission is a professional from SESARAM, who was being studied yesterday. The rest of the situations that were under study were not confirmed.

A case of local transmission refers to a non-teaching professional from an educational establishment in the municipality of Funchal, linked to a previously identified case. The establishment’s contingency plan is active.

A case of local transmission refers to a child who attends another educational establishment in the municipality of Funchal and who remains in prophylactic isolation after contact with a positive case. The establishment’s contingency plan is active.

On the other hand, there are 9 recovered, so the number of active cases stands at 172, of which 46 are imported cases identified in the context of the surveillance activities implemented at the Madeira airport and 126 are cases of local transmission .

Regarding the isolation of active cases, 27 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 143 in their own accommodation and 2 people are hospitalized – 1 in the Polyvalent Unit dedicated to COVID-19 and 1 patient in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID-19.

It should be noted that 182 new situations are currently being studied by the health authorities, 2 from the Madeira airport control operation and 180 related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or by SESARAM.
