Today, December 3, the Autonomous Region of Madeira registers 15 new positive cases of covid-19, thus counting 826 confirmed cases in the regional territory.
These are two imported cases from the United Kingdom and 13 cases of local transmission, all associated with contacts of previously identified positive cases.
It should also be noted that three of the cases confirmed today refer to children (5 to 12 years old), who attend educational establishments in the municipality of Funchal and Câmara de Lobos, whose contingency plans are active.

Today, there are also 14 more recovered cases to be reported, so the Region now has 616 recovered cases of covid-19.
To date, two deaths associated with COVID-19 remain in RAM.
In summary, there are 208 active cases, of which 41 are imported cases identified in the context of surveillance activities implemented at the Madeira airport and 167 are cases of local transmission.
Regarding the residence of active cases, 28 are non-residents and 180 are RAM residents.
Regarding their isolation, 26 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 178 in their own accommodation and 4 people are hospitalized, 3 in the Polyvalent Unit dedicated to covid-19. There is a patient in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to the disease.
Regarding the active surveillance of the contacts of positive cases, 1,271 people are being accompanied by the health authorities of the different municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo. Regarding the surveillance of travelers, 5,675 people are also being accompanied by the authorities, using the MadeiraSafe application.
In the context of the ongoing investigation at the social sector institution, where a positive case was identified yesterday, 241 PCR tests have already been carried out, all with negative results. The epidemiological investigation is still ongoing.
In total, there are 114 new situations that are currently being studied by the health authorities, two from the Madeira airport control operation and 112 related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or by SESARAM, EPERAM.
Contacts for the SRS24 line (800 24 24 20) now total 18,831 calls, plus 175 calls in the last 24 hours.
Covid-19 detection tests performed in RAM
In the context of the traveler control operation in the ports and airports of Madeira and Porto Santo, a cumulative total of 11,1400 harvests were carried out to test the covid-19 until 6:30 p.m. today.
In total, the samples processed in the SESARAM, EPERAM Clinical Pathology laboratory for PCR tests amount to 180,485.
