Madeira has 16 new positive cases of Covid-19 – DNOTICIAS.PT

According to the epidemiological bulletin of the Institute of Health Administration, today there are 16 new positive cases to report, so the Region already has 707 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the regional territory. These are 3 imported cases (from the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Switzerland) and 13 cases of local transmission, all associated with contacts of previously identified positive cases.

There are 61 new situations that are currently being studied by the health authorities, 1 from the detection operation at Madeira airport and 60 related to contacts with positive cases or situations reported to the SRS24 line.

It should be noted that 3 of the cases of local transmission identified today refer to children, between the ages of 10 and 14, who attend educational establishments in the municipality of Câmara de Lobos, whose contingency plans are active.

The data also shows that there are 13 more recovered cases to report, with the region now accounting for 536 recovered COVID-19 cases. To date, 2 deaths associated with COVID-19 have been recorded in RAM.

Currently, there are 169 active cases, of which 49 are imported cases identified in the context of surveillance activities implemented at the Madeira airport and 120 are cases of local transmission. Regarding the residence of active cases, 30 are non-residents and 139 are residents in RAM.

Regarding the isolation of active cases, 24 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 141 in their own accommodation and 3 people are hospitalized in the Polyvalent Unit dedicated to COVID-19 and 1 patient in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID- 19.

Regarding the active surveillance of cases of positive contacts, 1207 people are being accompanied by the health authorities of the different municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo. Regarding the surveillance of travelers, 6679 people are also being accompanied by the authorities, using the MadeiraSafe application.
