Madeira adds six more cases of covid-19 – dnoticias.pt

Madeira registers today, October 2, six new cases of infection by covid-19, according to the IASAÚDE Daily bulletin released a few moments ago.

These are 5 imported cases (2 from Poland, 1 from the United Kingdom, 1 from Senegal and 1 from the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region) and 1 case of local transmission.

The epidemiological investigation has been underway since the beginning of today and the regional health authorities guarantee that “so far no new positive cases have been identified among the contacts in the case of local transmission.”

There are also 4 recovered cases to report.

Thus, the Region has 69 active cases, of which 59 are imported cases identified in the context of surveillance activities implemented at the Madeira airport and 10 are cases of local transmission.

Regarding the isolation of positive cases, 39 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 29 in their own accommodation and 1 patient in the hospital of the Polyvalent Unit dedicated to COVID-19 at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
