Loulé “rises” to a high-risk municipality, Monchique, Lagoa and Lagos fall to moderate risk

This Thursday, Loulé entered the list of high-risk municipalities, from which Monchique, Lagoa and Lagos came out, which fell to the moderate risk category.

Based on the reevaluation of the epidemiological situation in the country, the Council of Ministers updated the list of municipalities at risk.

So, at this moment, these are high-risk regions (more than 240 cases, but less than 480 per 100,000 inhabitants), in the Algarve, Faro, Loulé and Portimão. These three municipalities are subject to measures such as curfews, every day, from 11 a.m. to 5 a.m.

In addition, commercial establishments must close at 10:00 p.m. and restaurants and cultural facilities must close at 10:30 p.m. Mandatory teleworking is also maintained whenever possible.

On the list of moderate risk are the remaining counties of the Algarve: Albufeira, Alcoutim, Aljezur, Castro Marim, Lagoa, Lagos, Monchique, Olhão, São Brás de Alportel, Silves, Tavira, Vila do Bispo and Vila Real de Santo António.

In other words, the Algarve region does not have any municipality at the most serious risk levels, where the restrictions are greatest.

The Prime Minister announced tonight, at the end of the Council of Ministers, that on New Year’s Eve (December 31) he will have a curfew at 11 pm throughout the country.

On the other hand, on January 1, 2 and 3, it will be prohibited to circulate on public roads from 1:00 p.m., leaving the prohibition to circulate between municipalities between 00:00 hours on December 31 and 05 : 00 hours on December 4. January, except for health reasons, urgent urgency or other specifically foreseen.

The Council of Ministers also decided to review the opening hours of restaurants throughout the continental territory, establishing that, on December 31, operation is allowed until 10:30 p.m. and on January 1, 2 and 3 it will be until 1 pm, except for home deliveries.

This Thursday, the President of the Republic decreed the renewal of the state of emergency for another 15 days, until January 7, this being the seventh time he has decreed a state of emergency in the current context of the covid-19 pandemic.
