Livraria de Santarém is the favorite of the Portuguese

The Aqui Há Gato bookstore, located next to the Church of São Nicolau, in the historic center of Santarém, was chosen the “Favorite Bookstore” of the Portuguese in a contest promoted for the eighth consecutive year by the Portuguese Association of Publishers and Booksellers (APEL ).

The objective of the contest is to highlight the important role of bookstores and bookstores in accessing books and in creating reading habits and Aqui Há Gato, which has distinguished itself since the first year of the initiative, won, for the first time, the top prize, with 2,322 of the nearly 7,000 votes cast online in the past seven weeks. It was also distinguished as the best bookstore in terms of convenience of service.

The Arquivo bookstore, in Leiria, came in second and LeYa na Buchholz in Lisbon was third.

In other categories, the Best Catalog Award went to the Baobá bookstore, in Lisbon, the Best Archive Environment Award, in Leiria, keeping the A das Artes, in Sines, like last year, the Best Service Award.
