The project to reform the north atrium, now reopened, corresponds to the second phase of the intervention in the Areeiro station, after the expansion works of the south atrium, opened to the public in November 2013, comprising a completely renovated atrium and a enlarged dock. , adapted to the offer of compositions of six wagons. It is recalled that it is a 45-year-old station, which showed signs of wear.
