Leiria Region has 96 new cases and one more fatality in Alcobaça – Leiria Region

There are 14 deaths associated with Covid-19 registered in the municipality of Alcobaça since the start of the pandemic, last March.

The latest report from the Leiria District Civil Protection Commission reports a confirmed death since yesterday, in the municipality of Alcobaça, which brings the total number of deaths from Covid-19 since March to 95. If this number is added to the six confirmed in the municipality of Ourém, there are now 101 deaths from contagion from the new coronavirus in the Leiria region.

The number of new cases also rises again this Sunday 29, with 96 more cases in the region (Leiria district and Ourém municipality).

The municipality of Leiria is the one with the highest incidence of new positive results, 33, followed by Caldas da Rainha (24), Peniche (16) and Alcobaça (12). There are also positive tests in Pombal (8), Marinha Grande (7), Bombarral (2), Óbidos (1) and Porto de Mós (1). The total number of confirmed cases in the region since March is 5,568, of which 1,772 are active.

Recoveries in the region now stand at 3,695, 89 of which were recorded since yesterday. Pombal is the municipality with the most patients yesterday to overcome the disease, 36.

Leiria, which remains the county with the most active cases (392), recorded 29 more recoveries. In Caldas da Rainha they were, while in Marinha Grande another nine. Nazaré had eight, Óbidos four, Bombarral two and Alcobaça had another recovery.

Portugal with 64 more deaths and 4,093 new cases in the last 24 hours

Currently, Portugal has 64 more deaths related to covid-19 and 4,093 new cases of infection by the new coronavirus, according to the General Directorate of Health (DGS).

Since the start of the pandemic, Portugal has registered 4,427 deaths and 294,799 cases of infection by the new coronavirus, with 80,838 cases already active, 770 more than on Saturday.

Regarding hospital admissions, the epidemiological bulletin of the DGS reveals that 3,245 people are hospitalized, 90 more than on Saturday, of which 536 are in intensive care, seven more.
