Boavista made official this Monday the transfer of Musa Juwara, an 18-year-old Gambian winger from Bologna, who arrives in Bessa for one season and with a purchase clause set at 7.5 million euros.

Musa has an impressive life story, having arrived in Sicily at just 14 years old, alone, orphaned, by boat, as a refugee and after having crossed the Mediterranean with the dream of becoming a professional footballer.

«I am very excited to be here in the city of Porto to play for Boavista. When they told me about this possibility, I never had doubts about signing for Boavista and now I want to start training with my new teammates. I am a fast and attacking player, but I also defend and work for the team. I like to score goals! It has been a long journey here. I left the Gambia for Italy and now for Portugal. It has been a long journey in my life. I have worked hard my whole life, I sacrificed myself to be where I am now. I suffered a lot to change my life and be a professional player. Since I was a child in the Gambia, this was my dream.
I’m here to start training with the team. I’m not here just to be. I am here to fulfill a mission. I’m here for whatever the team and the coach want. I’m here to provide what my teammates and team need, to show why they hired me. It’s not easy, because if the club hires you, you have to show who you are, work hard and meet people’s expectations. I am here to work hard.
I would like to tell the fans that it is not easy not being able to watch the games. I wanted the fans in the stadium to see good football and start this journey together. I wanted to tell you that I am very happy to be in the city of Porto, in a great club like Boavista, with a fantastic history. I am very happy, very grateful to be in Boavista », said the player, to the channels of the chess club.
