When contacted by SOL, José Gomes Ferreira was surprised, denying any interference in his work: “This information is nothing more than false news,” and added: “There is no pressure in relation to my work, my opinions. I even heard that he had been fired … No, that’s not true, it’s a big lie.
Although it was strange that the Business of the Week was not broadcast, precisely as a result of the presentation of the OE 2021, José Gomes Ferreira explained that “everything was due to a normal and habitual change in the schedule”. “It was precisely I who made that decision, because we are facing the day when, at that moment, the record of infected by covid-19 in Portugal was reached,” he clarified.
