The fact that the building is located in a reserved area means that the works cannot be carried out without complying with the Arrábida Natural Park Management Plan.

In a recent meeting of the Municipal Assembly of Setúbal, Maria das Dores Meira, mayor, explained that the case is “in the process of legalization.”

Also according to Public, the building that is being transformed by Joe Berardo was acquired by the Madeira businessman at the beginning of 2019 from Transportadora Setubalense – Belos, of the Barraqueiro Group, by Humberto Pedrosa, for 2,125 million euros. The objective is to create there a cultural space and a wine interpretation center called the Berardo Bacalhôa Collection.
