Jerónimo de Sousa said this Friday that Rui Rio “believes” that he discovered “gunpowder” by criticizing the PCP congress, scheduled for the end of the month in Loures.
“As he has been criticized for that, he believes that he found the discovery of gunpowder here, attacking the PCP and its congress,” said Jerónimo de Sousa, on the sidelines of a meeting with the Portuguese Association of Hotels, Restaurants and Related (AHRESP). , adding that the PSD leader is “in focus, taking into account his position of placing the far right in the center of the right.”
It should be noted that, on Wednesday, in an interview with TVI, Rio was asked about the possibility of preventing the communist congress if he were the head of government. The president of the PSD referred the solution to the conflict to the Prime Minister, António Costa, and the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, but stated that “obviously” he will try to prevent the congress, stressing that “the Government is saying that the rules are the same for everyone except the PCP. “

Jerónimo de Sousa also said that the holding of the congress is already being discussed “with the health authorities.” The PCP leader also recalled that the number of delegates was cut in half, about 600, that the meeting will not have guests and that “sanitary measures of absolute protection” will be applied.
“It costs a lot of work, it is very demanding, but we are like that, we assume responsibility, we fulfill it,” he stressed, confirming that the congress will be held on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the day, and on Sunday morning.
