Jamila Madeira is leaving. The remodeling of the secretaries of state alters health

In the Ministry of Health, Jamila Madeira, former leader of the Socialist Youth, MEP and leader of the PS, leaves the functions of Undersecretary of State and Health, a position now held by António Sales, who thus rises in the hierarchy of the team led by Minister Marta Temido.

For this team, To assume the functions of Secretary of State for Health exercised until now by António Sales, Diogo Serras Lopes enters, current vice president of the board of directors of the Central Administration of the Health System and who was an advisor on economic issues in the prime minister’s office.

Susana de Fátima Carvalho Amador was also exonerated from the position of Secretary of State for Education. The folder was delivered to the lawyer Inês Pacheco Ramires Ferreira.

The note from the Presidency of the Republic also reveals that, In the team of the Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, Pedro Nuno Santos, the Assistant Secretaries of State and Communications, Alberto de Souto de Miranda, and Housing, Ana Cláudia da Costa Pinho are exonerated, being replaced, respectively, by Hugo Santos Mendes and by the vice president of the socialist bench, Marina Gonçalves.

The President of the Republic will swear in the new Secretaries of State this Thursday, at 5:45 p.m., in a restricted ceremony in the Palace of Belém.

This second recomposition of the XXII Constitutional Government was proposed this Wednesday by the Prime Minister, António Costa, and accepted by Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
